2 Chainz and Def Jam hosted a conference call today in preparation for his Based On A T.R.U. Story album, which drops August 14th. To go along with the call, 2 Chainz released the clean version of the lead single “Birthday Song” featuring Kanye West. The song is produced by trap star beat maker Sonny Digital and Kanye as well. 2 Chainz stated the song is following the similar template he used with past singles like “Riot”, where he works the track with a “club” influence.
“Birthday Song” definitely has that, as Chainz and Kanye discuss their desired birthday gifts, and snarl about what they’ve earned through their efforts. 2 Chainz also outlines his funeral plans, telling loved ones and friends to bring him to rest in the Gucci store, rather than a the traditional cemetery plot, or possible second option of a burial at sea.
