Marshmallow Test

So it’s Thursday afternoon and as I was doing some surfing around the WWW, I came across this great video known as the Marshmallow test. This is not a new idea or a new video we have seen, but it def doesn’t get old. So here is the low down, a kid is sat down in front of a marshmallow and is promised a second marshmallow if he waits 15 min. to eat the first one. These poor kids had to endure pure temptation to win the prize of a second marshmallow. Wikipedia calls it “Deferred gratification” or “delayed gratification” the ability to wait in order to obtain something that one wants. This test is supposed to speak a bit about one’s personality and emotional intelligence, and those who do not have this trait are said to suffer from poor impulsive control.

I think me personally, I would have been on the same book as the red headed girl eating it while the instructions are being given  to her, and I’d probably take a nap waiting out the next 14 min and 55 secs.
