A CHICAGO STAPLE IN THE MAKING: SOUL FEST 2019

It’s time to put y’all on game with a dope upcoming event here in Chicago. Come tomorrow, June 11th, the now annual “Soul Fest” will take place at Emporium Arcade Bar in Wicker Park. Now, if you’ve passed through Columbia College Chicago you’re definitely no stranger to this showcase and have already RSVP’d. If not, you’re probably asking “What is Soul Fest, Josef?”. Well go ahead and read below.

Soul Fest is a music showcase that started up 5 years ago at Elastic Arts. After transitioning to Columbia College Chicago, it made its current home at Emporium Arcade Bar in Wicker Park. Founded and curated by Columbia Alumni Dewon Evans, it’s goal was to create a premier performance platform for original artists in the Chicago music scene. Soul Fest definitely achieved this goal with past performances by Anna Agosta, ConSoul, Musa Reems, Chinaa and Ajani Jones.

This year, Soul Fest is back at it and bringing the dope vibes from some amazing artists such as D’Zhari, Jazmyne Fountain and MARYMAR. The venue is located at 1366 N. Milwaukee Avenue and doors are at 8:00 PM. The best thing besides the dope talent is that this whole event is for the free, so be sure to RSVP.

See y’all there!
