Smoke It out

“My eyes see red, til I ball black fist, but the boys in blue love to cuff that fist.”

ADaD…. What more can I say about ADaD? I’ve said before he is one of my favorite emcees from Chicago. I pegged him as an artist to watch, every time I get a new ADaD record, it seriously brightens my day. So, I’ll just say this.. You should download “Smoke It Out”, the latest from ADaD, produced by Tensei, on an EP that is not yet titled.  ADaD brings up a lot of comparisons to Mos Def, many people have brought that up to me, and it makes sense.  I don’t necessarily hear the same voice, but I get that same kind of feeling and the same way the two put words together.  I think that’s also part of the reason why Q-Tip wants to work with ADaD, and partly why Babu singled out ADaD for a Closed Session. He’s simply nice on the mic, brings a blue collar flow, and rhymes with substance.  While you may dismiss “Smoke It Out” as just a weed song, you’d be remiss to discount the true meaning of the record, which deals with strife in many forms, and what happens when stress stresses us out… Download it below.
