Alec Lomami

Alec Lomami is a Congolese Hip Hop artist who has been without a true home for most of his life.  Born in DRC, Lomami moved to Belgium as child, then to the United States.  Both countries refused to grant Lomami asylum, and he event spent time in a U.S. jail before things began to get straightened out.  At this time, Lomami is in Zimbabwe, waiting for a U.S. Green Card and a return to America.  In his wake, he has left a new song, “Pop Revolution”.  He told Akwaabamusic that the song focuses on recent events back in his native DRC, “I saw something I’ve never really seen the Congolese do before. Generally we are pretty easy going, we are known for wanting to party our problems away, but this time it seemed like people were tired and couldn’t take it anymore. So I wanted to capture that as well.”

The song features Well$, who is Lomami’s cousin that currently resides in North Carolina.  Grab the record below
