I posted the teaser for this video a few weeks ago, and with the season finale of HBO’s “How To Make It In America” now in the books, Stones Throw has released the full visual for the show’s intro track, best known as Aloe Blacc’s “I Need A Dollar”. As noted previously, the video was directed by What Matters Most. The video utilizes the split screen technique, showcasing Blacc singing the song while looking out an apartment window. Meanwhile, a young man is followed throughout his day in search of the ever elusive dollar. As the lyrics go, “hard times are coming, and I reaped what I done sowed…” it’s not all ends-well for the video’s protagonist. Check it out below…
Side-note, how many people saw the season finale for “How To Make It In America”? I watched it, and must say that the show is good for Sunday night entertainment. Renee is a great character, and I’m glad they continued to prominently feature him. Although I had a hunch that the car wasn’t exactly “stolen” and that Rachel would ditch her job and her boyfriend, it was an adequate ending to a show that started slow and picked up steam. Word on the street is that HBO has picked it up for a few more seasons, so it should be back in due time.
