New music from Chicago’s Anton Genius. This one is inspired by the passing of Nick Ashford, and communicates the feelings of an artist (and a man) that’s reached his limit on hearing music focused on guns, violence, and petty boasting. Genius uses a sample of Ashford and Simpson’s “Street Corner” in his production, and uses lyrics such as “my ears got a bad cold, I’m sick of hearing this s**t.”
Genius is releasing a new mixtape tomorrow, and plans for a full album sometime soon. Pick up “on ANY Street” below, and check out the Ashford and Simpson original.
