Nicolas Ghesquiere kept his mix of structured and relaxed forms with hints of androgyny for the 2010 Cruise collection. The show brought us what I call pretty armor: sculptured silhouettes as well as bustled dresses without the crinoline, and slim fitting jackets with striking lines. The suiting brought together the slim jackets and leg-elongating high waist trousers. All of the bows, poufs, and ruffles made the collection super girly. The front bow ties on the blouses made the models look like presents. With the to-die-for clothing and woven boots guaranteed to top off any outfit, we’re all going gaga for Balenciaga!
