Best Coast’s new LP is putting this “chill-wave” genre on the map. Take or leave the new category at your favorite record store blogspot, but there’s no denying the summer time goodness of Best Coast, who’s music goes very well with coffee in the morning. On “Boyfriend”, lead singer/songwriter Bethany Cosentino repeats her wishes for a good friend to become her beau. It’s not clear if this is a strictly platonic friend that she wants to get busy with, or perhaps a friend with benefits that she hopes will turn into something more.
