Big Boi recently jumped on the Def Jam Conference call with about 150 bloggers, writers, DJ’s & industry folks, most notably to speak on his new LP Vicious Lies & Dangerous Rumors. His second LP will feature  A$AP Rocky, Ludacris, TI, Kid Cudi, Big Krit, UGK & Kelly Rowland,  and will be out November 13th via Def Jam. During the call, Big Boi went into detail on his contact with his Outkast brother Andre 3000. When asked if they we’re still “rockin” a question Big Boi gets almost every day, Big Boi stated, “Outkast is forever. I just saw Dre last week, he came over and I played him the new project… We definitely have some non-musical surprises coming up as well.”

Among fielding more redundant questions about his new LP, Big Boi went on to answer a question I had for him regarding the past year or so of his life. Having played almost every festival around the globe during the past 18 months, I asked Antoine how playing countless festivals and touring large stadium shows affected the sound of his new LP. Big Boi responded stating that when playing such festivals he is thrown into situations with different kinds of bands, from Little Dragon to Mumford & Sons, he tries to “Hang out with these different types of groups and they end up having jam sessions after that. Sometimes the music comes out of that.” All and all, Big Boi sounded very joyous with extremely high spirits about this  point in his career, especially noting his loving wife, and A-student daughter all furthering his inspiration to continue to create new music. Big Boi is definitely having fun as he readies Vicious Lies & Dangerous Rumors for November 13th. Shouts to Def Jam.
