The tribute album to the late-great Buddy Holly features 19 tracks of covers all with their own distinctive spin. Legendary rockers such as Paul McCartney and Lou Reed contributed tracks as well as younger rockers like The Black Keys, Julian Casablancas, and Modest Mouse. “Dearest” is a laid back track and the Black Key’s version amplifies this. Their eclectic style sounds right at home, mixing Holly’s Texas rock with subtle traces of reggae and their always dope percussion.
