I’ve covered Nymphomaniac pretty extensively, so it’s a bit too obvious to state that I’m absolutely excited for the film(s) to finally be released. It’s not so much about the sex scenes that director Lars von Trier is adamant about including. Rather, I’m interested to see what he has to say about sex culture, both as a social trend as well as a cinematic trend. Is there still a stigma against depictions of sex acts in films? Will it even have a philosophical bend to it, or will it ultimately end up being a misguided pet project made up of a talented cast exploited for sex? North America will have to wait until the Spring to find out.

To whet our appetites, a new post and film stills have been released. They range from cautious to risque, from Willem Dafoe’s chiseled face to Charlotte Gainsbourg tied up for a sexual bondage act. These may or may not be NSFW, depending on whether your company considers Shia LaBeouf going down for some afternoon delight isn’t allowed. Enjoy, early morning viewers.
