After successfully fighting the power, Chuck D is now fighting for his former Def Jam label mates, the Beastie Boys, to be inducted into the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame in 2012. Chuck has been very active on his Twitter page over the last few days, voicing his displeasure with the release of the police officer responsible for Oscar Grant’s death, old rappers trying to bite the Odd Future steez, and the new generation accepting less than stellar quality. It was during the latter that he brought up live shows, and Hip Hop acts that could successfully play stadiums. One such group in undeniably the Beastie Boys’, who have one of the best live shows in music. Chuck tweeted the notion of a “senior circuit” tour featuring Public Enemy, Run-DMC, and the Beasties, which would serve as a campaign to get Mike D, Adrock, and MCA finally into the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame. “It’s my personal campaign to get BB into the RRHOF,” he said.
