I love reading stories and articles such as Combat Jack’s “True Stories Behind 25 Rap Classics”. The lawyer/blogger/personality linked up with Complex to tell the creation story of some of Hip Hop music’s most treasured songs. It all started after Jack passed the New York Bar Exam and landed an internship with Def Jam Records. Once a part of the label Jack build a career and lifetime worth of Hip Hop memories. I’m a music nerd, and enjoy learning the story of songs such as “In My Lifetime”, “The Gas Face”, “Who Shot Ya”, “Can’t Knock The Hustle” and others. It’s also interesting to think that perhaps 20 years from now, we’ll be penning our own similar stories about songs created in the Windy City.
