Pilot Talk

In July of 2009, Curren$y came to Chicago to perform at our Dimes and Dozens party as well as a Closed Session.  One look at those photos and videos show how far we have come, especially when compared to this recent photo recap, or the most recent Closed Session.  Curren$y has also come a very long way in what is barely more than a calendar year.  Since that visit he became a mainstay in Creative.Control videos, was dubbed the new face of Roc-a-fella by Dame Dash, signed to Def Jam, and released a critically acclaimed and fan embraced LP in the form of Pilot Talk.

The album’s success serves as vindication for Curren$y. He has walked away from labels and deals in the past in order to stick to his sound and make the music that he wants to make.  In this clip he talks about what success of the album has meant, and how good it feels to prove people wrong.
