Damir Doma

Damir Doma has yet to become a household name but there is little to no doubt this Croation born designer’s future is heading there. Having grown up in Germany, he studied fashion in Munich and Berlin, graduating in 2004 with magna cum laude for best collection. If that’s not enough, he also worked at the studios of Raf Simons and Dirk Schoenberger, two incredibly talented and respected European designers in the fashion industry.

Two years fresh out of the University, Doma launched his own label, and shortly after in 2007, debuted at Paris fashion week. It didn’t take much but the tasteful eye of loyal followers to help develop his well deserved success. His collections to date have showed canny workmanship and an organic approach to menswear. With delicate fabrics that create draped silhouettes, the designs definitely explore the contemporary interpretations of masculinity. “Among his sources of inspiration Doma lists emotions, nature and artists such as Gottfried Helnwein, Joseph Beuys and Gerhard Richter.” Damir’s Spring 2010 line is expected to debut in February ’10.
