I had the opportunity to speak with Dan Black last week. The UK singer/songwriter touched on many topics, including the horror that was “Symphonies”, a song that sounds a lot like “Umbrella” and was originally released as a cover of B.I.G.’s “Hypnotize”. A few days before turning in the final album and pushing that release campaign button, Black and co. got a call from the Wallace estate vetoing any use of “Hypnotize” and Black was forced to switch up the track that broke him to U.S. audiences and was a youtube cult classic. Well, the light is at the end of the tunnel, as “Symphonies” has a life of it’s own and many many remixes, including one featuring Kid Cuid.
