DeMarco Castle first entered the larger psyche via Lupe Fiasco’s FNF record label and his debut LP, Food & Liquor. He was tagged as Lupe’s premier artist on the label, changed his name to Gemstones, and waited…He waited…and continued to wait. After releasing a mixtape last summer in preparation for a proper album, Gemstones disappeared from the Chicago scene, and music world at large. Speculations arose, as Gem’s been quiet. Here Gemstones clears the air, and tells us that he is no longer using any rap names, and will go the Obie Trice route as DeMarco Castle.
