Today marks the 37th birthday of the late and great J. Dilla. The world-renown producer has left an eternal fingerprints on Hip Hop music and culture by shaping sounds for generations to come. His work ethic, approach to music, and humanity have been celebrated by artists, fans, and critics across the globe. All of those things are at the forefront in this new documentary from B. Kyle entitled J. Dilla: Still Shining. It is a 40 minute documentary filmed in 2006 shortly after Dilla’s funeral. It contains footage of Dilla in his basement workspace, old show footage, as well as commentary from the likes of DJ House Shoes, Ma Dukes, Common, Erykah Badu and many more. Watch it below.
