Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros’ creation story would make a great science fiction movie. Band leader Alex Ebert formed the collective after beginning work on a novel centering on Edward Sharpe, who was immaculately conceived, has a robot father, and was sent to Earth to heal and save mankind. Sharpe has a romantic side though and is also thrown off the task at hand by women and falling in love. The band held a great performance at last year’s Lollapalooza, and also participated in an iTunes sessions. The session contains the songs “Up From Below” and “Jangling”.
