This newest joint comes off of Evidence‘s upcoming Rhymesayers’ debut Cats and Dogs. The Los Angeles native enlisted fellow CA native Fashawn for the track “Same People”, one that chronicles their rise and experience in the game and life. The two trade the mic back and forth throughout the song, making for a musical experience that never once slows down. The video that accompanies the release of the track profiles the two artists as they grind to get their name out there, hitting up the boardwalk of Venice Beach to push their latest single. I can’t decide which MC holds it down better, but I can say I am happy to see Fashawn back on tracks such as this one. The jazzy beat is upbeat and almost feels like an embodiment of Sunny CA, which is something he moved away from on Grizzly City Vol. 3 and Higher Learning 2.
