I’ll never forget when my older brother first played Gil Scott-Heron’s music for me, and when I got old enough to understand it, let me borrow and “dub” (yup this was back in the dubbing days) all his GSH albums. “Whitey On The Moon”, “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised” and other works mesmerized me, and greatly influenced my journey into poetry, writing, and even Hip Hop music. In preparing for my interview with Coodie & Chike, I found that they directed Scott-Heron’s new video for “Me And The Devil”. Scott-Heron has a new album in the works, and I already want it.
