“what’s inside? the demon that wears me?”
Exposed to the internet at the young age of 8, the now 15 Haleek Maul’s been living in Barbados, nerding up, and soaking up inspirations. They come across in his music, which now that I think about it, is pretty dark and deep for a 15 year-old living on an island. But that’s Maul for you who will drop a debut EP Oxyconteen via Merok on June 19th. He also has a full length scheduled for the fall. A friend of mine has been talking quite a bit about this kid over the last week, who sounds somewhere between Hodgy Beats and SpaceGhostPurrp. Check out his new record, “88”, produced by The-Drum.
