I’ve really enjoyed Evidence’s video series, Inside Cats & Dogs. He gives listeners insight into his new LP, and it works because Evidence is an artist that puts a lot of thought into each and every record, really, each and every line. He’s also one of the more personal artists. It doesn’t get much more personal than “I Don’t Need Love”, which focuses heavily on the loss of his mom, which happened while Dilated Peoples were on tour with Kanye West promotion Neighborhood Watch and College Dropout respectively.
