For ShowYouSuck this past year has unquestionably been the most exciting 12 month span he’s ever had. Seemingly coming out of the nowhere, Show burst to the developing Chicago scene with an entirely new sound, and brand at that. Show’s One Man Pizza Party series, affiliations with Treated Crew & LOD, and slurpee raps are  leading a new wave of  fans and helping define the thriving scene here in Chicago, before the rest of the world gets a listen. ShowYouSuck & his team took their talents to NYC last week and through a slew of industry meetings, a show at SOB’s, and 2 hour long talks on the block with Josh Madden, Show realized he’s already on the path leading to international acclaim.

Show detailed that one of the most significant points in his conversation with Treated Crew member Madden was simply about life, rather than typical industry jargon. “With him, it was more like a life coach talk than a music industry talk. And things that he talked to me about, I can apply to music and that’s awesome. But for me to take those things and apply them to music would be selling myself short. He gave me tools for life.”

Among exciting meetings with the likes of Bad Boy Records, drinking Mark Whalberg x Diddy’s brand of water, Show exclaimed he has some exciting collaborations coming with the likes of Karmaloop TV, Grooveshark and longtime co-signers, Mishka.  In his describing the reactions from his meetings, Show stated a lot of advice that was given to him, he was already working on and had already cultivated.

“It was a really reassuring trip, that let me know I know what I am doing…without really knowing what I’m doing, haha. People ask me for advice all the time, but I’m just like f*cking around,” he said.  After landing back in Chicago Saturday morning, Show stressed the significance of being in new situations and learning more about his team, and manager most importantly.  “At first it was her managing situations as they came along, but now she has to time manage me all day in an area we don’t know. Just to see her take care of that kind sh*t like a f*cking champ was dope.”

ShowYouSuck has proven time in and time out that he is not just some joke hipster rapper, making songs about 7-Eleven.  Show is a rapper with a cause and serious brand that is looking to make a statement as Chicago moves closer and closer to becoming the Hip Hop capital of the U.S.  “It’s weird that I have s**t going and I can’t say anything. I’ve never been apart of anything that important, where I can’t say anything.” It will only get more secretive from here on out for Show, and we wish Show and his team the best as they continue the grind.
