Our introduction to Seattle’s THEESatisfaction came via “Queen Supreme”, a song in which they instruct listeners to leave their swag at the door, and to not fuck with their groove. It was a perfect intro, as the duo of Cat and Stas aren’t into all that extra shit. Their debut album, AwE NaturalE, hit stores last week and it’s a fluid collection of songs with one word titles, that are short, sweet, and to the point. That’s not to say that they aren’t meticulous or careless with their music. The album was a long time in making as the duo spent a lot of time working on their music and message. The finished product is a collection of funky and soulful tunes, Hip Hop with a touch of the beat poets, melodic modern day lyricism with inspirations in Shakespeare. And it’s fucking awesome.
