iPad2

The Wallstreet Journal released a report and video containing news on Apple’s iPad 2.  Improvements in the new edition are reported to include a camera on the front of the iPad enabling users to video conference.  The new model is also expected to be lighter and thinner than the first iPad, and carry more memory and a better graphics processor.  It is expected to be available on Verizon and AT&T upon its release.

The iPad is already being manufactured according to the report, and could debut in the next couple months, which will be roughly a year after the first iPad hit U.S. stores.  The iPad is big business for Apple, who reported that iPad sales made up close to 17% of its revenue in its last reported quarter.  News of the iPad 2 also follows Steve Jobs’ announcement that he will be stepping down as Chief Executive due to medical conditions.
