I caught up with J. Ivy for a brief second at Nalege’s birthday party and J. told me his new album was complete, and that he was feeling real good about it. After hearing “2012”, a new joint featuring Twone Gabz and Mikkey Halsted from J. Ivy’s forthcoming LP, Here I Am, I’m feeling real good about it as well. The track tells listeners to keep pushing and keep asking questions. Twone Gabz and Mikkey both turn in very dope guest verses centering on life in the present, telling us that the predicted apocalypse of 2012 really means nothing if you’re not living life right in 2010.
