Julian Lynch

Earlier this week we interviewed Dylan Baldi of Cloud Nothings as part of our RH First Look series.  In the interview, Baldi talked about his influences and the ways in which he incorporated his lack of high quality recording equipment into his sound and aesthetic.  He said, “I was listening to a bunch of music, and there’s this Julian Lynch album called Orange You Glad. That album is super lo-fi, but the way it’s recorded it’s all lo-fi and kind of murky and it kind of plays into the whole vibe of the record that’s dictated by the fact it’s lo-fi. So I tried to listen to stuff like that, and just tried to make sure there was some sort of atmosphere beyond just a recording amp being recorded poorly…”

A few days later and there is news of a new Julian Lynch album, Terra, on the way.  The LP is going to be released this spring via Underwater Peoples.  It is the third LP for Lynch, who is currently living in Madison, WI working towards a PhD in Ethnomusicology.  Lynch also shared the tracklist, which you can see below.
