About a month ago, Philly’s The Show hit up the Windy City and played me his unreleased debut album Uncool is The New Cool. It is a follow up to his recent mixtape, Bigger Than Hip Hop, which is presented by Coodie and Chike of Creative Control. I was really impressed by the LP, which contains enough Hip Hop for the heads and enough beyond that to appeal to a wide audience. Many artists tell me they have something new, or that I have yet to hear, but The Show actually backed up the talk. The production is rich, and varies from Beach Boys sampled joints to rock inspired tracks that reminded me of something like “Big Me” from The Foo Fighters. There’s no release date for the album, and The Show is currently working on building his buzz. Here’s something to help the effort as we have a sampling of the album’s final track, “So Real”.
