Kanye West

“Triple Double, no assist.”

After first listen, “Monster” sounds like the ultimate air-cleaning exercise.  The one that gets all the ratings on “Celebrity Rehab”, where Dr. Drew has the break through.  People throw chairs, cry, embrace, cry some more, then walk away strong.  Imagine that but replace the “Celebrity Rehab” cast with some of Hip Hop’s brightest stars such as Jay-Z, Rick Ross, and Nicki Minaj. Kanye West is Dr. Drew and Bon Iver is that other guy who is super cool and reminds you of an art teacher or perhaps pottery workshop leader.  “Monster” is each artist addressing their protagonists head on, with Frankenstein results.  Fans that were pleading for more of the fierceness of Kanye West admist 808’s and Charlie Wilson features should be happy now…

The track makes good on “G.O.O.D. Music Fridays”, featuring an all-star cast.  Kanye dropped the track via Kanyeuniversecity along with the announcement that he and Jay-Z have an EP in the works title, “Watch The Throne”.  Good s**t all around.  You lost me for a second when you asked if I ever had “sex with a pharoah,” but ah, it’s cool.  Download the track below.
