Just when I wasn’t feeling too bad about missing CMJ this year… Kanye West capped off Pitchfork’s Offline showcase (put together with Fool’s Gold) by surprising the Brooklyn Bowl crowd with a 20 minute set during CyHi Da Prynce’s performance. As Rolling Stone says, “Kanye West appeared onstage at New York’s Brooklyn Bowl at roughly 2:30 Sunday morning, wearing a hubcap-sized gold eagle’s head pendant, a gargantuan two-finger pyramid ring and what appeared to be a hooded black terrycloth bathrobe. He looked like a Pharoah who had spent the day lounging poolside, and had just decided to drop in for this quick surprise show.”
I think that’s pretty fresh, and also want to let everyone in camp Kanye know that The Darkroom would be perfect for one of these surprise performances, or can I suggest Beauty Bar during a Digital Freshness? The next one is November 20th… See the clip below.
