Kid Cudi

I’ve been reading rave reviews about Kid Cudi’s debut album, and participated in many discussions over the last couple days over where Cudi fits in music-wise.  Is he Hip Hop? Is his music better described as pop?  I see Cudi at the forefront of a new sub-genre of Hip Hop that combines pop and dance sensibilties, as well as fashion and promotion.  Cudi’s debut drops on 9/15, and I’ve really resisted downloading the album and listening to it outside of its entirety.  Tomorrow someone from Universal is coming thru the RH office for a “screening” of the album, which I’m definitely looking forward to.  Meanwhile, a new trailer for the album, as well as a couple more tracks hit the web over the weekend while we were in ATL.  Continuing with the theme of “catching up” today, here is said trailer, and new joints “Simple As” and “Soundtrack 2 My Life” via nahright and 2dopeboyz respectfully…
