Jack Larsen is heading towards the October 23rd release of his debut LP, Mildew, like a speeding bullet. After releasing “Spirit” and its corresponding video, he has returned with the LP’s second single, “Vanity”.
“Vanity was written at what I would consider a point of rock bottom in my life. Discouraged within my art and personal relationships, I wrote this song as a form of self-reflection in order to capture my feelings of vulnerability and isolation. The lyrics are straightforward and cover most of the facets I was facing: being broke and unemployed while feeling worthless and apprehensive.”
The song is melodic and relatable, a 20-something in a tailspin set to beautiful music. The song is available now everywhere. Jack is also hosting a Mildew listening event on October 18th (free with RSVP here), and headlining Schubas on 11/19 (tickets here).
