As we embark on the finals hours of the month with the last Local Sounds of a exquisite September, we will work on a newer formula for the Local Sounds column. With the goal of a sleeker, less cluttered and more feature friendly article we will be switching up the basic post format used thus far. By highlighting newer artists and running a lead feature on a specific song or video each week, we are looking to bring a more personal approach to our weekly series on the greatest musical city in the nation. This week we have brand new music and news from artists like, Common, Rockie Fresh, Kanye West, Sir Michael Rocks, L.E.P Bogus Boys, Freddie Gibbs, Robot Army, Million $ Mano, Add-2, The GTW + More.

Common’s“One Day It All Makes Sense” memoir reaches NYT Best-seller’s list – See Common’s reaction/note to fans Here. He also spit a verse from his next single “Blue Sky” live on the LA Leakers radio show.

Rockie Fresh linked with Karmaloop TV for a short feature on a recent trip to Brooklyn speaking on his hometown of Chicago, relationship with fans + more. Watch Here – #ReclaimYourTV

While the L.E.P. Bogus Boys are gearing up for the Halloween release of Now or Neva, some new BTS footage of the Bogus Boys and Sir Michael Rocks while shooting visuals for “Streets Talkin'” off the new LP.

In everything Kanye West related… unseen footage dropped of him in 2002 at The Chocolate Factory, spitting impromptu verses during The College Dropout sessions. “I got 11 plaques on my wall right now, you got your first gold single, damn nigga wow!” And on that note Kanye West’s line will be debuted at Fashion Week Paris tomorrow night at around 9:30.

Joining Kanye in Paris will be his current DJ and good friend, as well as our homie Million $ Mano, who is fresh off a Digital Freshness set last night. Mano who is definitely on his own grind, was recently in the studio with 2Chainz so you know something heavy will surface from that.

Freddie Gibbs dropped visuals to the track “Anything To Survive” feat. Freeway this week, via the homies at LRG. BluRoc Records duo Mach Five (Columbus/Chicago)  linked with GLC to bring us “Fresh” off their upcoming project Best Friends. BluRoc will soon be the hub of much dopeness.

Add-2 dropped a new joint “94 Style” which I was hoping was referencing the wonderful, peaceful highway we all love in Chicago. Sadly, it was the year, but who can complain about that. With this Illmatic sounding clip, and a Kendrick Lamar co-sign, nobody should be surprised when Add blows.

The GTW, the standout up and coming musician dropped visuals for the track “Sublime” following the touchy theme of unwanted pregnancies. #deepshit
