After today’s run in with Chief Keef on Twitter, which provoked some very personal and definitive statements from the West side emcee, Lupe dropped off “American Terrorist Pt. II (Superheroes)”. Beginning with a blissful piano riff, Lupe takes us to the electronic portion of the album he promised. I don’t know how listeners will react to this song, but there’s is definitely a reason why he dropped this tonight. “Sympathy is wearing off and dying out, in the face of enemies and crying out” spoke Fiasco, in a song where he invisions a superhero experiencing life in time such as ours. Like always Lupe depicts worldwide issues and messages in his music, with a purpose of making a change. I hope listeners can see exactly what he is depicting and understand the severity of the issue we have in Chicago.
