Anyone that’s ridden the CTA late at night or early in the morning has definitely experienced some kind of bugging out. There’s always the people talking to themselves, others arguing, and more still that just look like they’re on drugs. It was a night time ride on the train that serves as the inspiration for Mathien’s new song “Devils In The Chi”. The record is big, loud, and takes on a spiritual vibe as Mathien questions where he’s at, and some of the things he has done.
