Echoing the best of Late Joy Division/Early New Order, Memory Tapes out of New Jersey has put forth their/his first single, “Bicycle”. I can’t get this song off my ipod; I’ve had the luxury of working in Hawaii for the last week and if you haven’t driven around listening to this track in the fading sun watching the sugar cane fields sway, I can, with certainty, say that you have never lived. When the song peaks about 3/5 of the way through, it might be the best moment in a song this year.
