M.I.a.

Maybe we can finally put “Paper Planes” to bed… M.I.A. revealed some details about her new LP in an interview with Rolling Stone.  The issue is on news stands now featuring a cover that reads “You Idiots”.  The issue also hit my mailbox last night, proving there is still some value in magazine subscriptions.  Anyway, M.I.A. told Brian Hiatt that while 2007’s Kala was recorded throughout the globe, her new work is more centralized, as well as focused, as she stays in an L.A. studio to record. M.I.A. enlisted Blaqstarr, Diplo, as well as Verizon employees when a tech support call turned into an impromptu recording sessions.  The album is tentatively set for a summer release, and M.I.A. says it will be more musical and honest.  “I’m definitely more musical now than I was, and more honest now than I was.  The idea is just to be as human as possible.”
