Like the production duo Daft Punk and the always elusive MF Doom, UZ joins the ranks of incognito artists that keep us guessing. Most performers that shroud themselves in mystery tend to thrive in the shadows, which is why we don’t really know much about UZ other than he records in LA, he has been producing for over a decade and he blew up in a VERY short amount of time; UZ recently told Redbull that he created a soundcloud, tossed a few tracks up and got noticed by Diplo’s MAD DECENT label all in the same month. Now he has the internet going nuts and with good reason. Balltrap Muzic Vol. 1 takes the latest dance incarnation of Trap production and seamlessly laces it with some heavy-hitters in the rap game. If features by Trinidad James, Casey Veggies, Problem and Iamsu don’t give this tape enough cred then an appearance by Baauer, the producer of the infectiously annoying “Harlem Shake” should do the trick.
