I remember hearing Vonnegutt on Big Boi’s “Follow Us” and finding them intriguing but not having heard enough to know what to think. Now they’ve dropped a mixtape with plenty of listening material. This tape is heavy on the features but the additional help they bring aboard is impressive. Features include but are not limited to: Naledge, Aleon Craft, Tony Williams, Mic Terror, FreeSol, STS, Outasight, and OnCue. They kind of take a Kickdrums approach on some songs, painting the background for rappers to fill. They do however have Kyle Lucas rapping on some tracks and he’s able to hold his own next to some solid rappers. Vonnegutt also offers their own take on some more well known tracks.
