This year’s Spring Marc Jacobs collection takes it’s inspiration from theatre, the ballet, the opera, and his favorite Japanese designers. The latter is evidenced by all the models coming down the runway in kabuki makeup. Jacobs was determined this season to go against the current trend of women wearing all black and studs. His theme for this season was being an individual, and anyone who knows Marc Jacobs knows he certainly is an individual. His collection was filled with short shorts and intricately designed blazers, ruffles everywhere, long peasant dresses, underwear as outerwear, sequins, and nude leggings.
