Lupe Fiasco: "Go To Sleep" (CDQ)

http://rubyhornet.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/lupe_sleep.jpg

While Lasers is being held up for whatever reason over at Atlantic, Lupe knows his fans need to hear more of his music. Yesterday on his twitter he revealed that "Go To Sleep" would be out Friday and it did surface last night. Equipped with a full CDQ but clean version of the piano laced single, it should hold us fans over until our next fix from Lu. Apparently, "Go To Sleep" (Prod. by 1500 or Nothin') is the first off the once rumored album Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album. Also props to the LupE.N.D. blog for the lyrics, and go check em out here.

3OH!3: "Double Vision" ft. Wiz Khalifa

The sound might be a bit uncharacteristic for the boy from the Burgh but the subject matter isn't unfamiliar at all. Wiz Kahlifa jumps on for two spaced out verses on the upbeat track. Download the jam below.

Cee-Lo-Green: "F*ck You" (Video)

http://rubyhornet.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/cee_lo.jpg

"If I was richer, I'd still be with ya."

Cee-Lo officially won the Internet over with this one. Pushing 40,000 views on Youtube in less than 24 hours, i've seen and heard nothing but positive reaction, Duh. This song is the epitome of the feeling of resent we all experience with another individual at some point. The best voice in the game expresses this like we all wish we could. His 1st solo LP since 2004, Lady Killer is out soon. Hit the jump for the text based visuals, that do not disappoint.

Shawn Chyrstopher: "Catch Me If You Can"

Shawn Chrys is taking off and there are too many who could catch him if they wanted to. He's just dropped his first CDQ single off of his upcoming album, You and Only You. Shawn does his thing as remains lyrically on fire throughout with witty lines like:

"She said I love your mind, I said I love your brain/ But somehow I don't think we said the same thing."

The track it self sounds great and the beat fits Shawn Chyrstopher's sharp delivery almost too well. Cop the track below.

Closed Sessions x Freddie Gibbs Trailer

Freddie Gibbs

In July of 2010 Freddie Gibbs hit the Windy City as a headliner of this year’s edition of the Pitchfork Music Festival.  Closing down the Balance Stage, Gibbs performed in front of 30,000 people as he brought the gritty streets of Gary, Indiana to Chicago’s Union Park.  Before his Pitchfork performance, Freddie Gibbs hosted RubyHornet’s monthly Digital Freshness party at Beauty and hit SoundScape Studio for the second edition of the LRG and Closed Sessions collaborative project.  Freddie Gibbs decided to work with up and comer YP and after a few beats and blunts, “Something New” was born featuring the smooth production of Chicago's Million $ Mano.

Check out this trailer to get a taste of how things went down and look for the full documentary and new track next week via ClosedSessions.com/LRG.

Kanye West: "Power" Remix ft. Jay-Z & Swizz Beatz

The wait was worth it.

Kanye said he'd be dropping this track a week ago when on the air with Angie Martinez. So we waited and waited...and waited. Friday and the rest of the weekend passed with no link. Kanye tweeted a pic of him and Swizz, implying the track was being touched up. At 1 am this morning he gave us the remixed track and it was immediately clear to me that that extra week was well spent.

The track is the epitome of a remix, being much bigger and better than the original. Jay-Z hops on board to make a brief appearance and Yeezy adds 2 "powerful" verses, not to mention the last one's use of an school sample. Download the song after the jump.
