Our favorite N.E.R.D.(pun intended), Pharrell recently debuted his sculpture collabo with Jacob the Jeweler and Takashi Murakami.  Titled “The Simple Things,” the sculpture art was made with seven key items in mind:  cupcakes, a baby sneaker, Johnson & Johnson pink baby lotion, a Pepsi can, Heinz ketchup bottle, a condom, and Doritos.  These seven Pharrell essentials were created and adorned from precious metals and stones, totaling 26,000 stones in the entire project.  All of these items illustrate the idea of value and what value personally means to the artists.  Pharrell stated That some people need to see the mundane items in such a beautiful glamorous form to realize really how essential each one is.  The taste of a cupcake is worth far more than a diamond encrusted cupcake in his opinion.  But, the collaborative project sold for a cool $2 million within the first 30 minutes.Check out the pics below…
