Phoebe Philo

Phoebe Philo pulled at my hearts strings before I even knew who the accomplished British designers was. Chloe had long been a favorite design house of mine, and when Stella McCartney stepped down, and Philo took her place as creative director, I was not alone is saying that the fashion house still continued to rock the runways, and streets around the globe.  Known for creating defining shapes in clothing and accessories, you could find her pieces worn on everyday fashionista’s to world renowned models and actresses.

For me it was the feminine chic look that she made attainable for the right price. From 2001 until 2006 many like me relied on her shows for the next “it” look. After deciding to resign from Chloe, I wondered when I would next see Phoebe’s designs. Fast forward to 2009; she is back-signed as Celine’s creative director.  Rumors are running wild as to what the collection will entail, but according to Philo herself via Women’s Wear Daily  “There’s going to be a big emphasis on trousers and jackets and blouses, and pieces that mix together. It’s also designed in such a way that it takes you through the day…”  I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next since she is the woman responsible for the iconic Paddington bag released from Chloe, which is arguably one of the most coveted bags of all time.  The collection is set to debut for Resort/Pre Spring 2010, which means any day now!
