Last Friday, Nike hosted an AF1-XXX Celebration at Chicago’s Double Door.  The concert featured DJ sets by Clark Kent and DJ Sean Alvarez.  Their sets were followed by a lengthy performance from Kids These Days, who ran through material from their last EP, as well as new stuff from their forthcoming Trap House Rock (co-produced by Jeff Tweedy of Wilco).  They also ended their set by performing “Rapper’s Delight” alongside the real SugarHill Gang of Wonder Mike, Master Gee, and Henn Dogg.   The concert was preceded by a screening of “I Want My Name Back”, a documentary that details the SugarHill Gang’s battle with their former record label to reclaim their music, as well as their identity (see the trailer below).
