Proenza

The Proenza Schouler duo of Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez has revamped their Pre-Spring presentation.  The collection debuted at the Villa della Petraia in Florence for Pitti W, the biannual fashion event in the Italian city.  In collaboration with the Art Production Fund, an NYC nonprofit organization that helps artists create works, three special artists were chosen to be a part of this project:  Kalup Linzy, Haim Steinbach, and Kembra Pfahler.  Linzy is a videographer who’s videos usually reference soap operas, Steinbach creates spatial collages from found objects, and Pfahler is part of the art glam rock band, The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black.  All three artists stayed true to their medium as Linzy made a video using model Liya Kebede and actress Chloe Sevigny.  Steinbach created a space at the villa entrance made of the duo ‘s accessories, dog toys, plastic onions, and a metal bed frame on a white rug.  Pfahler’s doing a performance with 20 local Italian women and donning Proenza Schouler body suits with body paint, a trademark for her shows.  Way better than your conventional fashion show…Check out more pics below.
