Mos Def

Last week we launched a contest for the upcoming DOOM featuring Mos Def show going down at The Congress theatre on 1/29.  We asked RH readers to convince us to give them the tickets.  The contest is still going on for a brief amount of time, and we thought we would offer up some pleas as an example of what contest hopefuls are working with…

The Biz approach…

“I try to be a well rounded person to become a jack or better yet an Ace of all trades and a few things I’m involved with is graphic/web design(which I’m currently obtaining a bachelors degree after 3 years in April), photography, and emceeing. Exceeding Boundaries is the business I am establishing to become a powerhouse umbrella company which deals with art, music, fashion, events, videos, etc. I have a lot of ambitions that I wish to accomplish some great things and expose all the raw talent I come across daily… I’m soon to be 21 on January 13th and can’t wait to finally start attending more events, particularly hiphop ones since my age has usually hindered me thus far. I would genuinely appreciate winning these Doom & Mos Def concert tickets, since I’ve only attended a few concerts and none of which featured hiphop artist…”

The Heart-Strings approach…

“You should give me the ticket because I am a broke ass actress. I’ve been listening to Mos Def since I was in high school (graduated in 2000).  My boyfriend is planning on going but I can’t afford a ticket right now.  He has bought me so many tickets over the past year and I can’t ask him for another.”

“My name is Gerard LaGrone and I am 33 yrs young. I would like the tickets because I have been a huge Mos Def fan and my girl is a Doom fan. She actually put me on to Doom. I think if I surprise her with the tickets it may get out of the dog house. Thank you for your time and consideration.”

The Super-Fan approach…

“MF Doom is my favorite rapper. I even own the  limited edition Nike Dunk sb that they did for him. Check out the attached photo for proof. Viktor Vaughn Doom. DOOM. King Ghidra. King Geedorah. A few of his aliases. I even own his early KMD stuff. Now on to Mos. I think thats pretty self explanatory the guys just a genus. I need to be in the house for this concert one way or the other, this is like one of those moments that you’ll never forget and you’ll always remember why you love Hip Hop.”

What do you think?  Anybody above make a noble case?  The contest is still open and the rules can be found right here.
