JANUARY 16 2010: (Bloomington, IN) — 21-year-old Mike Posner has captured the public’s attention with his live performance. With the first leg of Mike Posner’s Midwest
Tour concluded with consecutive sold outs shows, Posner will be heading on the second leg his Midwest Tour with 2AM Club and Addison Park as well as special guests specific to each location.
Posner will embark on the second leg of his Midwest tour on January 29th and 30th in Bloomington, IN (Jake’s Nightclub) and Chicago, IL (Enclave Nightclub), respectively.
The tour leg continues the following weekend on February 4th in Madison, WI (Majestic Theatre), followed by Champaign, IL (High Dive) on the 5th, and concluding in
Lexington, KY (Buster’s BB) on the 6th.
Posner has achieved a musical trifecta, gaining recognition for his songwriting, producing and singing. After interning with Detroit’s 102.7 FM radio station, Posner began working with Hip-Hop Artist Big Sean of Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music in 2007. In 2009, Posner created his debut mix tape, A Matter of Time, which boasted a “genre bending style,” according to Posner. The mix tape launched a label bidding war that was eventually won by Posner’s current label, J Records/RCA.
Despite the time commitment that Posner’s blossoming musical career demands, he still manages to balance his musical passion with his double major curriculum of sociology
and business at Duke University.
“I had three finals on Tuesday and I had a show on Wednesday,” described Posner, whose academic and career life remain intertwined as he goes from professor
appointments to meetings with Jay-Z.
