Chicago’s Hip Hop community has been thriving the last couple years. They’ve embraced the blogs, as well as the idea of free music with fully open arms, and its arguable that the Hip Hop scene’s better than its ever been. But, what’s up with the rock scene? A once thriving community that gave birth to bands like Smashing Pumpkins, Wilco, Liz Phair, and many others, is almost playing second fiddle to Hip Hop these days. Jaime Black examines this shift in his second live panel and broadcast from Rockit on April 18th with industry experts Chris Payne, Christian Picciolini, Greg Corner, and somehow they let me join in as well.
